Words

Here are some words that I love, but that I can't bring myself to use in conversation with anyone:

Perspicacity
Nefarious
Erudition
Indubitably
Excogitated
Opprobium
brobdingnagian

and this one: the longest one in the English language
pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.
Try dropping that one nonchalantly into a conversatrion over lunch. If it doesn't choke you, try using another word like, quadridimensionality or Honorificabilitudinitatibus.

My all-time favorite is this: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrn-drobwllllandyssiliogogogoch. The name of a Welsh village in Anglesea. It means, “The church of St. Mary in a hollow of white hazel, near to the rapid whirlpool, and to St. Tisilio church, near to a red cave.”

Words have always been fun for me. Maybe you can create a list of your own, too.
I tag Beth and Ginger.
Let's hear your fun words.

Hmmm. I don't think I could come up with a whole post-full of words. As you know, "corpulent" is one of my more descriptive words. I also rather like the one our History chair uses for when students make up long rubbish essay answers: they "bloviate." (That's a real word.) Can't think of any more.
